Location: Banteay Meanchey Province (Northwest)
The
Banteay Chhmar CBT gathered 38 villagers together to develop a sustainable tourism activity in a rural area to provide poor people with complementary revenues and to play a role in the local development of their commune. A “Tourism Tax” was set up to finance sanitation and environmental protection actions.

Activities
Spend a night in a Home Stay in a traditional wooden house
Khmer traditional meals prepared by a group of women
Picnic beside the Baray or in the temple area
Ox cart tour through the countryside
Walking and bicycle tour to discover the rural life (farm, traditional
medicine, rice field
activities, carpenter, bee keeper...)
Participate in the cultural festival in Banteay Chhmar (Khmer New
Year, Water festival)
